Installation of ANSYS Temporary License
Hi everyone, this is MingYao from Ozen Engineering, Inc. In this video, I'll be showing you how to set up your ANSYS temporary license or trial key. First off, thank you so much for your interest in ANSYS and for trying out our software. I hope you have a great time with it, and I'm hoping this video will help you get it installed quickly.
Email Overview
This is a typical email you'll receive from your Ozen Engineering account manager with an ANSYS license key attached, as well as some instructions. As many of you receive numerous emails, chances are you don't read the entire message. So, I'll quickly overview what's available here:
- License details
- Computer information (host ID and type)
- License package included
I've changed the names of the company and the computers so this can be used by anybody.
Important Section
Down here is where it's important. You want to find the section that says Customer Portal Login Instructions. Here, it provides:
- Instructions to download the evaluation software
- Temporary login credentials
Login Process
Let's go through the login process:
- Sign out if you're already signed in.
- Use the guest account username, which is an eight-character code (e.g., A1-ABCDEF).
- Enter the temporary password provided.
- Proceed to download the current release.
Downloading the Software
The first thing to download is the License Manager, which is found under Tools. It includes:
- License Manager
- Update and full package
Then, you can download any of the other tools such as structures, fluids, and electronics.
Additional Resources
If you have questions, you're welcome to visit ozeninc.com. Under Resources, you'll find a Frequently Asked Questions section, including:
- How to download the software
- Installation process for the License Manager
- Adding the license file
- Opening up the firewall if needed
You don't need to create accounts on the customer portal. You can watch the video for the software download process. Hopefully, this gives you a quick rundown of what you need to do. The main thing to realize is that access to the ANSYS customer portal is included in the email you have, so you can go directly to downloading your software.
Conclusion
